Asset Life Extension

Advanced fatigue remediation and structural integrity services.

The Alternative to Replacement

Fatigue failure is the limiting factor for most welded steel structures. Instead of costly component replacement, Syntegris applies Pneumatic Impact Treatment (PIT) to introduce beneficial compressive stresses, extending the fatigue life of your asset by up to 10x.

On-Site Weld Improvement Service

Technical Application

Scope of Service

We provide a turnkey service that includes equipment rental, qualified operators, and QA/QC documentation.

  • Crack Arrest: Treatment of existing micro-cracks to stop propagation.
  • Weld Geometry Improvement: Smoothing the weld toe transition to reduce stress concentration factors (SCF).
  • Residual Stress Engineering: Inducing compressive stress up to 2mm depth.
  • Speed: High treatment speed (approx. 30cm/min) minimizes downtime.

Simulation-Based Integrity Assessment

Fatigue Analysis (FEA)

Proof of Concept

Before we touch the steel, we verify the results digitally. Using SDC Verifier, we calculate the current utilization factor and simulate the life extension gained from PIT.

We certify our calculations against:

  • DNV-RP-C203
  • Eurocode 3
  • IIW Recommendations
